I discovered and brought some of these things back with me from Korea. It’s called a Marimo and seems to be a kind of algae / fungus thing you leave in water. It grows about ½ a cm a year so I suppose, eventually, you could end up with a huge one.

Seoul from 122 stories up

Thinking Room

Oh no, I’ve fallen hard back into World of Warcraft. I’m a little disappointed with myself … but I’m having a great time so I’ve decided to forgive myself. I’m too good to me.

It’s a little fiddly to use, at first, but the Clips app by Apple is really underrated I think. It’s got a lot of nice little features to make so fun videos.

I stopped using HEY for my email but I’ve actually started to miss some of its features that I didn’t think were that important to me at the time. I may actually switch back.

I’ve got my first trip (via work) to South Korea coming up soon. I’m not sure I’ve ever been somewhere that is so different to home culturally. Despite the jetleg and having to work all done, I’m looking forward to hopefully taking in some of the sights and sounds of what the country has to offer! Have any of you been? Any tips for a first time visitor? I’m collecting a local sim at the airport when I arrive with unlimited data so I’ll have a connection to maps and stuff, which is always helpful!

DC Universe Unlimited Finally Launches in The U.K.

Marvel’s ‘Netflix for comicbooks’, Marvel Unlimited has been out in the U.K. for some time now. I was a subscriber at one time, but beyond Spider-Man and the X-Men I’ve never been a huge fan of Marvel’s characters. I’ve always been a DC man, but until recently keeping up with the stories was a fools errand. While I’m sure a lot goes into making them, it difficult to justify paying £4 for each issue, which is why I was really pleased to see that DC’s equivalent to Marvel’s offering, DC Universe Unlimited has finally launched in the U.K.

Mastodon is a crappier, lonelier Twitter … yet I’m finding myself using it more than I planned just because I like the Toot! app. I blame @ronnielutes …

Social Media Arms Race

Twitter is all abuzz with Elon Musk hot takes, but all joking aside, I don’t think many people appreciate the cultural significance of Twitter. As a business they’ve seemingly failed to find a strong monetisation model for it but just in terms of its use around the world it’s an incredibly powerful tool.

Those of you that blog regularly, how do you find inspiration for what to write about? I really like writing / blogging but just struggle for ideas for content so end up posting nothing for large chunks of the year.

Do any of you art folks know where in the CSS of my site the orange border around the ‘read more’ link is at all?

Looks like I balls’d up all of the CSS on my site. Ah well, will fix it at some point! 🤦‍♂️

Micro Book Review - Gerald’s Game by Stephen King

Gerard’s Game

I’ve read quite a few Stephen King book now, over the years, and one thing that never fails to amaze me is his ability to make even the most mundane setting thrilling, and completely blow away my expectations. The Long Walk is a good example of this. As the name suggests, it’s literally about a long walk, yet it’s an engrossing tale and, through his literary magic, King delivers.

Did I see somewhere you can run a newsletter from micro.blog now? Or am I imaging that?

My home in New World is small and packed full of junk, but it’s home …

Finished reading: The Talisman by Stephen King 📚

Hard one today! Is anyone else playing this daily? It’s more in my wheelhouse than Wordle. Framed #38 🎥 🟥 🟥 🟥 🟥 🟥 🟩 framed.wtf

Bit of a Homescreen rejig though still looking a bit of a mess. There are some really cool things you can do with Homescreen setups at the moment, but I don’t have the patience to dig into all that at the moment.

I’ve got to the point, finally, that I don’t change my todo app constantly, but I do like playing around with different email services for some reason.

The 100th and final level of the Halo Infinite Battlepass gives you … an amazing lump of metal to add to your character. Thrilling stuff here!

Happy Easter for those that celebrate it. Happy Sunday to everyone else!

He’s seen things …

Does anyone have a good way of sharing Glass links to m.b? I guess just add it to Glass then share the link to m.b but also attach the image there so it appears in timelines?

Does anyone have a link to that service like Foursquare that’s ‘open web’ friendly and you can use with Micro.blog? Can’t remember it’s name now.
